Dr. Danielle Forshee, Psy.D., talks to Life & Style about Donald Trump’s cheating allegations and how it affects Melania
Life & Style spoke with relationship expert Dr. Danielle Forshee, Psy.D. on what it means when someone takes back an ex — especially after a cheating scandal. “Trust is difficult to reestablish. After somebody has allegedly cheated, this creates what we call a ‘disillusionment.’ This creates a disillusionment about the spouse that has cheated. For example, they may ask themselves questions such as — ‘Who really is this person? Is this really the person that I married or fell in love with? Did I ever really know this person?'” she explained. “It creates a disillusionment about the person as well as their marriage. They may also attribute memories that were once positive with their spouse as potentially not real because of all of the questions that they now have regarding the validity of the marriage.”
